Business
To inform its research and advance action on climate change, the Pew Center on Global Climate Change collaborates extensively with the business community. Two primary vehicles for business engagement include the Center’s Business Environmental Leadership Council (BELC) and membership in the U.S. Climate Action Partnership.

California Portland Cement Company is a member of the Business Environmental Leadership Council (BELC), the largest U.S.-based association of companies dedicated to business and policy solutions to climate change. California Portland Cement is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Taiheiyo Cement Co. in Japan. The company manufactures and imports Portland cement within the Southwest U.S. and produces concrete within Southern California. In 2000, California Portland employed 740 people.
